In this episode of TAU Unbound our host, Ambassador Ido Aharoni Aronoff, is hosting Dr. Irit Back, the Head of the Inter-University program of African Studies at Tel Aviv University. Irit is a lecturer in the Department of Middle East and African Studies and Head of the Africa Research Program at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies. Her research interests are contemporary Islam, conflicts resolution and regional organizations, primarily in the Horn of Africa and West Africa. Here we discuss the relevance of the Holocaust to the African narrative, cultural sensitivity, Golda Meir’s vision regarding Africa and Dr. Back’s own fascination with Africa.
